National Police Accountability Project and Others –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On October 30, 2013

After hearing of the Chris Gill situation, I decided to do a search for other Paris and Edgar County police officers that might be listed in some abuse or accountability database. What did I find?

“Edgar County Drug Task Force Officers” Terry Rogers (current police officer) and Dee Burgin (former county deputy), are listed  in the National Police Accountability Project database.

…and this guy is whining trying to get his job back at the Sheriff Department – go figure. This is what happens when people don’t have to use their own pockets to pay fines incurred – the insurance company paid it this time.

Just thought you would like to know.

  1. I wonder why you are so behind the sheriff? You are yet to right one negative thing about him. It appears you pick out certain people and pick on them and their families. Why dont you write about what Ed has done wrong and especially about his skeletons in his closet?

    1. Because he works for the City of Paris and the Mayor is Craig Smith. They refuse to press charges on people that illegally use city credit cards, why would they fire someone over this?

By the way, it is true, there is no “if” about it.

You might also ask why is Mike Heltsley (County Board) pushing so hard to get Dee back on as a Sheriff Deputy?
