I-70 crash at Marshall sends two to hospital –

MARSHALL, IL. (ECWd) –

An early morning accident on I-70, one mile east of Marshall, Illinois today sent two to the hospital, and tickets issued to driver from Guatemala.

According to the State Police traffic crash alert:

This crash involved three tractor trailers, with one driver not licensed to drive a commercial motor vehicle.

Preliminary investigative details indicate, Unit 1 was traveling West on Interstate 70 near milepost 148 just East of Marshall. Unit 1 overturned losing items and vehicles it was towing and hauling. Unit 2 was also traveling west and was unable to stop in time and struck Unit 1. Unit 3 was also traveling West and struck Unit 1.

Unit 1 driver (Gonzalez) was issued citations for improper lane usage, operating a commercial motor vehicle without a CDL, no driver’s record of duty status (no logbook), no medical certificate, and failure to comply with an out of service order.

Drivers of Vehicles 2 and 3, Ronald Liston, 56, Edwardsport, IN., and Joseph King, 57, Arcadia, CA. were both transported to Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

    Wonder who owned the vehicles he unit 1 driver was hauling these for. Should go after the person (company) he hired the driver.
