On January 8, 2019

Atlanta, IL. (ECWd) –

During today’s Atlanta Electoral Board, the Board hear objections against the nomination packets of Dale Colaw and Linda Evans.

Both candidates were alleged to have failed to file a receipt for their Statement of Economic Interest prior to the end of the filing period. The second objection to Dale Colaw’s nomination packet alleged he filed his petition packet on a date when the city offices were not open. Another objection to Linda Evans’ nomination packet alleged she did not annotate which office (2 year or 4 year) she was a candidate for.

Both candidates admitted they did not file the proper receipt.

The Board determined that they would sustain all objections, which will cause both candidate’s names to not be printed on the ballot.

The Board will issue its written ruling in January 15, 2019 at 7:15 p.m., prior to the next Atlanta City Council meeting.
