LaSalle Police Chief Uranich – PAC confirms numerous FOIA violations –

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

On October 17, 2018

LaSalle Co. (ECWd) –

More than two years ago I filed a request for review for what we knew were certain violations of our Freedom of Information Act by LaSalle Police Chief Uranich.

“For the reasons discussed below, this office concludes that the LaSalle Police Department ( Department) violated FOIA by improperly withholding certain records concerning an internal investigation of a police officer in its response to Mr. Kirk Allen’ s September 25, 2016, FOIA request.”

In October of 2016, just after our request for review, we ran the No Sex, only Kissing story that related to Officer Strand and an investigation related to allegations of solicitation of a prostitute.  As we continued our search for the truth, which appeared to be lacking in many parts of the criminal investigation, we followed up with our “Story not “falling” apart, it has crumbled”.

We wanted key records that we believed the public had a right too, however, the Chief of Police refused to provide them.

While we are pleased to recieve the final determination from the Attorney General PAC office, we are still awaiting the documents that the PAC said they need to turn over.

betting he won’t turn over anything, will destroy all records and then claim, “cannot be located”. This is illinois the Land of Leavin’ where those in charge believe they can do whatever they damn please. So soon we will start doing whatever we damn please and we have half our brains hidden behind our collective backs.
