CHARLESTON, IL. (ECWd) –

Barry Wolfe, the former AAU Girls Basketball Coach who plead guilty to criminal sexual assault (in a supervisory position) of underage victims, girls aged 13-17, who played basketball for him, apparently did not agree with his 60-year sentence.

After his sentencing, Wolfe wrote a letter to the Court stating that he “would like to officially withdraw (his) guilty plea.”

There is a status hearing on the motion scheduled for August 29th at 9:00 a.m. Wolfe will be transported from the Department of Corrections to attend the hearing.

Department of Corrections lists Wolfe as confined in the Graham Correctional Center, in Hillsboro, IL. It is a Level 4 Medium-Security all-male state prison. According to the DOC, his scheduled Parole date is October 12, 2068.

The day after Wolfe’s counsel was notified, counsel filed a motion to withdraw as counsel.

Sounds like his soon-to-be former counsel is also against a “do over” on his guilty plea.
