Glen Ellyn – College of DuPage –
Twenty-one months after the Glen Ellyn Police Department improperly redacted information Kirk Allen requested, the Illinois Attorney General’s Public Access Counselor finally made a determination.
On April 13, 2016, the AG’s PAC determined that the Glen Ellyn Police Department’s redaction of the arrest records of (College of DuPage Trustee) Erin Birt (Clay) was in violation of the Freedom of Information Act. Kirk Allen first requested the records on June 11, 2014.
The PAC asked the Glen Ellyn PD to provide the requested records to Mr. Allen, stating that “although the information may be highly personal to Ms. Birt, her interest in privacy is outweighed by the public interest in disclosure of the reasons for her arrest – which is a matter of public record – as well as the manner in which the arresting officer performed his duties.”.

Posted at 09:11h, 17 AprilHow does the Glen Ellyn Police Dept. justify their actions here? Who did they take their orders from? Who was/is her connection in the GEPD? Wow.

Posted at 09:32h, 18 AprilWhen I Google Patricia Taves another letter comes up about an attempt by GEPD to avoid releasing vehicle ID numbers to lawyers in their case after their FOIA request. It was denied. 2 weeks later a request to exempt personal info from a FOIA request was approved by a different person in the OAG office. I am not saying the 2 things are connected but they are both in 6/2011. I don’t know of a police department that would go to that kind of trouble for any old tom, dick, or harry, or me for that matter.

Posted at 16:17h, 16 AprilErin Clay Birt has demonstrated her lack of regard for laws and ethics, beginning at least as far back as her drunk driving arrest through her Chairmanship of the criminal activity by members of the CoD Board engaged in aiding and abetting criminal activity against all Illinois taxpayers. Be forewarned readers, she still is practicing law and is by virtue, an officer of the court. But, then, this still is Illinois, where corruption is welcomed by the government and chasing away the private citizen taxpayer.
