Will Co. (ECWd) –
Lincoln-Way District 210 accepted an agreement for Ron Sawin, former Assistant Superintendent, to retire early and they do not have to buy him out for the remaining two years on his contract.
In a saddening twist to what appears to be a savings to the taxpayer of, two years’ salary and benefits, they stripped the public of their ability to claw back the financial misgivings by Sawin who managed the financial matters at D210 by agreeing to the terms of the agreement below.
In addition, they agreed to not file charges against Sawin.
“The Board agrees not to file charges for or to seek the termination of Sawin or to institute any disciplinary measures against Sawin based upon any acts which occurred prior to the execution of this Agreement and of which the Board is currently aware.”
For the record, only the State’s Attorney can “file” criminal charges. The board’s agreement does not negate that from happening in any fashion.
Ron Sawin, Good Riddance!

Posted at 18:38h, 25 MarchThe school board has no shame because they are a HUGE part of the problem. They continuously approve budgets and treasurer reports without question, and refuse to accept any responsibility when wrongdoings happen. They protect one another and it is SICKENING!
This is a huge amount of money, should Tingley have followed up with Sawin as well? What about the consultant, Langert, from district 230? Isn’t he being paid a large amount of money to look at the books and “consult” with the administration and school board because our finances are so screwed up? He would have known about the waiver situation.
The taxpayers and students continue to get screwed. It is time to clean house!!!
Frustrated!
Posted at 15:58h, 25 MarchWhat a joke. In the private sector, an employee would of been fired after his first large financial blunder. Sawin made multiple mistakes, over many years, costing this district and taxpayers millions. Now he gets to retire with a full public pension, and not even a slap on the wrist. Pathetic. The board should be ashamed for approving this agreement, and should of seeked immediate termination with cause.
More waste of our tax player dollars. Glad to know that my money paid this fools salary for years, my money will also now pay for his retirement. Wonder how long til he moves in next to Wyllie in Flordia. They’ll be having dinner together laughing at how they screwed us all out of millions.
