MARSHALL, IL. (ECWd) –
During public comment of the December 22 Marshall city council meeting, Mr. Herman Wallace commented on the fact that he knew Beverly Church did not live in the city limits at the last election. Further stating that she served well, informed, and independent.
I couldn’t help but notice he didn’t mention she served honorably…maybe because she violated the oath of office simply by taking the oath. That she committed fraud by swearing to and attesting to the “fact” that she resided in town on her petitions for office and statements of economic interest, or that she continues to commit voter fraud by voting in a precinct that she does not live in while holding a voter registration card for a place that she does not live. Everything that followed her taking the oath of office was a fraud on the people of that Ward and the people of Marshall.
This involved far more than sitting on a board she was not authorized to sit on. It involved fraud, deceit, lies, election fraud, voter fraud, violation of an oath of office, improper receipt of payment for serving as Alderman knowing she was ineligible, disenfranchising every voter in that Ward, etc – and a majority of the City Council was aware of it and let it continue.
Each and every meeting she attended was a slap in the face to the Illinois Constitution, the Election Code, and the Illinois Municipal Code. To characterize a lawsuit to stop this fraud as “frivolous”, as Mayor Sanders did, shows his contempt for the rule of law and his contempt towards the citizens of Marshall.
