Joliet, Ill. (ECWd) –

On February 2, 2026, Angel Contreras was arrested by the Joliet Police Department on the following charges in Will County case number 2026MT000801:
– Driving on a Revoked License (Class A Misdemeanor)
– Improper Traffic Lane Usage (Petty offense/traffic violation)

Photo used is from his previous 2022 arrest.

Contreras is the former Joliet Township Supervisor who resigned after being found guilty of Felony DUI and aggravated driving without a license – and clearly did not learn anything from that conviction.

He is currently employed as Wheatland Township’s Director of Policy & Program with a total compensation package in excess of $55,000 per year.

According to the court docket, his 2022 felony conviction had a 24-month probation, which does not expire until July 2026. It also shows a balance due in the previous case of $1,089.
