Danville, Ill. (ECWd) –
On January 2, 2026, the CRIS Rural Mass Transit District published a press release stating that it was discontinuing all services in Ford, Iroquois, and Vermilion Counties, and that they were announcing the dissolution of the CRIS Rural Mass Transit District.
The problem became clear when we read their published board meeting agendas. NOTHING in the published agendas (see Dec 29 and Jan 2 agendas) indicated a potential vote on discontinuing services nor dissolving the district.
According to the Open Meetings Act, any action to be voted on must be included as such on a meeting agenda published at least 48 hours prior to the meeting in question.
Any votes or action taken in violation of the Open Meetings Act are invalid and void.
We encourage any interested party to either file a lawsuit in the circuit court of Vermilion County alleging violations of the Open Meetings Act and seeking an immediate injunction, or to file a request for review with the Attorney General’s Public Access Counselor.

As I said before the Attorney General’s office needs to step in and find out who was in violation and broke the law of embezzling the money. Once this is determined they need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and put in prison.
They suck. Too many consumers have been affected by it
As is if it’s any surprise vermilion county is violating the law.. given how they just had expanded and now this its all just soo fishy. It stinks…
