Westville Asst Coach Files For Order Of Protection Against Local Watchdog –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On July 31, 2025

Westville, Ill. (ECWd) –

Ricky Womack, a Westville, Illinois, Assistant High School Football Coach has filed for an Order of Protection (“OP”) against local government watchdog, Alec Severins, alleging Severins posted things online accusing him of a crime.

He is asking the Court to prohibit further postings or publications referencing him (textbook prior restraint).

A Vermilion County Judge DENIED the requested preliminary (emergency) OP and scheduled a plenary OP Hearing for August 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in Courtroom 2.

PlayersBio” published an article on this developing situation yesterday (here).

For reference and background:

Womack was sued by the Illinois Department of Health and Family Services (on behalf of the child’s mother) to prove parentage of the child in question, and the DNA test results included in the lawsuit proved 99.999995% that he was the child’s father (here).

When I requested information on Womack’s employment with the school district, they only provided meeting minutes of his hiring as assistant football coach in August of 2019; however, there is evidence that he worked or volunteered there in some capacity as early as 2016 (here – see date on photo).

According to “Vermilion County Watchdog” and “PlayersBio“, it is “alleged” (at least by doing the math and looking at photos posted online of the pregnancy and graduation gown) the child’s mother was 16 years old and a Sophomore in Westville High School when she got pregnant with his child, and he was 24 years old at the time, and allegedly (by looking at the dated photo above) Womack worked at the school in some capacity, either as a volunteer with the football team, or otherwise during that time-frame.

He was “rehired” in 2019 as a volunteer assistant football coach at Westville High School, which was a couple of months after the mother graduated.

Questions still remaining:

  • Did the school board or any of its employees know about this when it happened?
  • If they did know, was it reported as a mandated reporter?
  • Did they know when they “rehired” him in 2019?
  • Why didn’t the Department of Health and Family Services do something about this when he was confirmed as the father?

***We have purposely left out the name of the child and the mother, as well as any photos of them, and only made reference to certain information we have found supporting these events.

We asked Mr. Womack for comments, but he has not replied as of publication.
