Tad Mayhall And Shelby County Facing Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On January 20, 2025

Shelby Co., Ill. (ECWd) –

A Federal Civil Rights lawsuit has been filed in the Central District of Illinois naming Tad Mayhall in his individual capacity and Shelby County as Defendants, alleging violations of the federal civil rights of John Kraft.

Statement from Robert T. Hanlon, the attorney filing this lawsuit on behalf of John Kraft:

“The action by Mr. Kraft against Shelby County and Tad Mayhall stems from a gross violation of Mr. Kraft’s rights in which he was unlawfully removed from a public meeting and was denied any due process as to his removal. The lack of equity is readily visible from the video taken by Shelby County.”

This suit is overreaching and absurd. It has all the appearances of a money grab and grift. Should Mr. Kraft have been tossed? Maybe, maybe not if there was no initial warning. If there was then take your lumps and kindly step out of the meeting. The video clearly shows Mr. Kraft was speaking quite loudly during a non-public body comment period. Civil, rights violated? That’s pretty rich. Should other gallery members have been asked to leave for having conversations during non-public body comment time? Yes. Mr. Kraft knew what he was doing. He knows the rules conduct in meetings, as does everyone else in that room. I see the case tossed but board rules on this matter tightening up and clarified.

Let’s now pivot as to how a chain of custody document ended up in someone’s hand (Kirk) within 10 minutes of creation after being created 5 weeks past an event in which certain documents came into possession of a certain Shelby County official? That raises huge red flags and opens one for some serious questions. Can this be answered? Chain of custody documents are created at the time items are taken possession of and not weeks later.

It should make a person curious as to when Mr. Mayhall’s handlers will think it is enough. This is the third lawsuit he has gotten the county board into because of his not so charming arrogance. Right?!?! Right?!?
I am sure the Democrats who hand picked him are proud. Keeps them in the trenches and the county under good ole boy control.

Poor Robert Hanlon. Being called upon regularly given all of the corruption and lack of transparency in this awful state of Illinois.

I, believe Mr Hanlon is used because, he’s not only the attorney for ECWds, of his history of dealing with SCF/SCU.

One would think that officials would wise up and stop thinking they’re the ultimate authority…Kings to be bowed down to.

Dictators who think they are above the law will be held accountable
