Orland Park, Ill. (ECWd) –
The Orland Fire Protection District has spent more than $432,000 over the past several years to Ray Hanania (Urban Strategies Group) and All-Circo, Inc. for “public relations” work, which included production of “press releases” and social media postings.
Ray Hanania receives $4000 per month for this work.
It is unclear on exactly what was produced related to these payments for “media relations” although the district did provide a document listing of the work allegedly performed (See pages 8 – 24).
Broken down by year, here are the numbers the district provided, for which they paid $48,000 per year:
- 2018 – 34 press releases
- 2019 – 18 press releases
- 2020 – 23 press releases
- 2021 – 13 press releases
- 2022 – 45 press releases and other things
- 2023 – 72 press releases and other things
- 2024 – 48 press releases and other things
- 2025 – as of the date of the FOIA request – 1 press release
The district has also spent more than $3.94 million on attorneys since 2015 (See pages 25 – 44 and pages 1 – 19).
