South Holland, Ill. (ECWd) –
Today, in a six-page Order, the Cook County Judge John T. Tully, Jr. ordered Nate Fields’ name to be printed on the ballot for Thornton Township Supervisor as an Independant Candidate in the upcoming election.
Fields is an independent candidate for supervisor, and some people aligned with disgraced Supervisor Tiffany Henyard objected to his nominating papers claiming the Statement of Candidacy had to be affixed to the petition sheets.
Nothing in the law requires a Statement of Candidacy be affixed to the petition sheets, but the Thornton Township Electoral Board upheld the objection removing Fields from the ballot. Fields appealed that decision, and today the court reversed the electoral board’s decision.
