Atlanta, Ill. (ECWd) –
During the November 19, 2024, Atlanta, Illinois city council meeting, there was discussion about the city’s involvement with the Atlanta Betterment Fund and the Logan County Economic Development Partnership.
According to the published meeting minutes (see page 2):
- the city council unanimously passed a Motion to not do business or represent the Logan County Economic Development Partnership for 5 years
- the city council unanimously passed a Motion to suspend all business with the Atlanta Betterment Fund relating to tourism
Both are affiliated with Bill Thomas, and we wrote about the Logan County Economic Development Partnership in early November – read this. Thomas did update the corporate filing with the Illinois Secretary of State three days after we published the article.

Posted at 11:33h, 01 JanuaryI read the minutes of the meeting and under discussion, there is little or no information on who said what during the discussion. I do not believe the minutes are in compliance with Illinois law. I wanted to read what their reasoning was for leaving the county economic development partnership.
