Thornton Township Funds, Equipment Used For Supervisor’s Election Campaign –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On September 8, 2024

South Holland, Ill. (ECWd) –

Last Sunday, the Thornton Township Supervisor used Village of Dolton property, and Thornton Township funds, equipment, personnel, and food bank to support her “Friends of Tiffany Henyard” campaign in her bid for reelection as township supervisor.

This is nothing more than the illegal use of public funds, property, or credit for campaign and electioneering purposes.

It cannot be tolerated at any level and needs to be prosecuted.

Leading up to and after the “Friends of Tiffany Henyard” campaign event:

  • Used Thornton Township’s webpage to advertise for this campaign event, claiming it was “presented” by the Thornton Township Board when it was never presented nor approved by the board
  • Used Thornton Township’s Facebook page to advertise for this campaign event
  • Used Thornton Township’s Facebook page to show photographs of the event (see the pics here)
  • Used Thornton Township’s vehicles, equipment, tents, employees, and food bank supplies for this campaign event (watch the video here)
  • Held the campaign event at the Village of Dolton’s “skate park” made without board approval and costing hundreds of thousands of dollars on the backs of village taxpayers
  • The verdict is still out on who paid for all of the bouncy houses and other entertainment for the children at this campaign event – but we suspect the township or village paid for it with credit cards, or will be asked to pay for it at a later date

We urge the township board to calculate the financial damages (vehicles, personnel hours, use of tents, food boxes, webpage, Facebook page, and everything else) and formally demand Henyard immediately reimburse the township for all of it, and then, acting as the township board, file a criminal complaint with the Cook County Sheriff and Cook County State’s Attorney demanding action.

Why is the political organization Township Officials of Illinois (TOI) covering up (protecting) Supervisor Tiffany Henyard??? Time for township consolidation/elimination.

They are not “covering it up” because they have nothing to do with how townships operate, they only give guidance when asked – and won’t typically weigh in on issues like this

What will this Narcissist do when she is trading her customized outfits for an orange jumpsuit?

It is appalling that she is still in power and spending taxpayer money. If she were Trump she’d be locked up two years ago.

Why is it even normal for a government office to put on things like cook outs and ice cream socials or bingo events with prizes in the first place? Even if the board had approved it, that isn’t the role of government. They’re not here to entertain, they’re here to fund the police and fire, where are we at with the fire situation by the way, fixing roads, traffic lights, etc. The fact that anyone in government can do this silly stuff is absurd to begin with.
