Dolton, Ill. (ECWd) –
Thornton Township Supervisor Tiffany Henyard is once again using public funds, property, or credit for her private purpose of electioneering for public office.
She is apparently begging to be prosecuted under Article VIII, Section 1 if the Illinois Constitution – which the courts have already established that violations of this section of the constitution are felonious and can be prosecuted under the Official Misconduct statue in the Illinois Criminal Code.
On September 1, 2024, she plans on having an event in Dolton for “Friends of Tiffany Henyard” – which is her personal campaign fund – and she has advertised this event on the official Thornton Township Facebook page, including a clearly political flyer stating it is presented by the Thornton Township Supervisor and Thornton Township Board of Trustees.
The trustees did not approve of this and could never have legally approved of this obvious political campaign event.
Henyard called a special meeting on August 28th, with this item actually on the agenda for the township board to approve public taxpayer funds for this obvious campaign event. The trustees never attended the meeting, and Henyard continued to hold a “meeting” consisting of only herself and the township attorney, spending around an hour on a crazed verbal vomit session.
This cannot continue, the Cook County State’s Attorney can and should immediately prosecute this electioneering action.
