Dolton, Ill. (ECWd) –
A new federal lawsuit was filed today alleging deprivation of rights under U.S.C. 1983, which include:
- Six Counts of First Amendment Retaliation; Speech and Right to Associate against Tiffany Henyard and Keith Freeman in their personal capacities, and Thornton Township
- One Count of Monell Claims; Deprivation of Rights against Thornton Township
From among the allegations:
Plaintiff was a 22-year employee of Thornton Township and was also the president of board of trustees of Dolton West School District 148.
After Henyard was appointed Thornton Township Supervisor, Keith Freeman and Tiffany Henyard attempted to persuade Plaintiff to exercise his powers as school board president to install the Del Galdo Law Firm and the district’s attorney, which he refused to participate in.
However, the board did discuss the issue and declined to appoint the Del Galdo firm as their attorney.
Shortly after declining, Plaintiff was terminated from his employment at Thornton Township by Henyard and Freeman for allegedly not showing political support for Henyard.
This appears to be yet another case of political retaliation by Henyard against those she perceives as her enemies. This is not the first and will not be the last lawsuit naming her and this scheme of forced political support.
