Illinois (ECWd) –
With his trial supposed to start this morning, former Illinois Senator Sam McCann claimed he was not ready to proceed due to medical conditions, however, the Government indicated he was medically cleared for trial.
After several recesses for McCann (Pro Se (acting as own attorney)) to confer with appointed Stand-By counsel, McCann finally and voluntarily terminated his self-representation and accepted appointment of an attorney.
The bench trial is continued until tomorrow, February 13th at 9:00 a.m.
