District 95 Separation Agreement With Dr. Larson –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On January 7, 2024

Paris, Ill. (ECWd) –

At the end of December 2023, Paris School District 95 accepted the resignation of its now-former superintendent, Jeremy Larson, and entered into a mutual separation agreement with him.

Part of his separation agreement (below) included stipulations that the district would not seek any civil actions, lawsuits, or claims against him, nor he against them.

Both parties agreed this agreement was not to be construed nor used as an admission of any wrongdoing by any party.

There were no separation payments made to Larson (other than what was contractually already owed to him).

We were accidentally sent a draft copy, which appeared to paint a good light on Larson’s tenure as superintendent, but those comments were stricken from the final, signed version.

Read the agreement below:

    I just have one question:
How does any employee, let alone a superintendent who is alleged to have misspent that much money, get off with receiving a “mutual separation agreement” and not an all-out firing/termination – and more?

How about legal action for a crime?

Why? Not, why did you send this? Why would anyone agree not to prosecute? Laws in Illinois are immaterial. That school board should be voted out of office.

Of course, only a prosecutor can agree not to prosecute. Thankfully. What District 95 did do is let Larson off the hook for everything that was misappropriated. Makes you wonder if there are others who don’t want any “unnecessary” digging into the misappropriation. Round up the usual suspects!
