Coles County, Ill. (ECWd) –
We filed a motion to intervene in former Coles County Assistant State’s Attorney Brady Allen’s criminal case in Coles County asking the Court to unseal the previously impounded mugshots of Defendant Brady Allen.
Our main argument was that booking photos (mugshots) are available under FOIA on a routine basis and this defendant’s booking photo should be unsealed because the public has a right to know.
Neither the prosecuting attorney nor defending attorney objected, so the Court directed the photo be made available.
Since the booking photos were no longer impounded, our motion to intervene was determined to be moot.
