Judge Leaves Costanza, Goings On Ballot –

Poplar Grove, IL. (ECWd) –

A Boone County Judge upheld the Poplar Grove Electoral Board’s decisions to dismiss petition objections and leave candidates on the ballot for trustee of the Village of Poplar Grove.

The Candidates were Owen Costanza and Jeff Goings. We have written on Costanza in the past (here).

The objections appear to be that the headings of all petition sheets were not uniform (some marking 4-year term, some not marking anything) and the receipt for the Statement of Economic Interest of Costanza was submitted with his 2-year petition sheets, which he later withdrew, and the village clerk photocopied the receipt and attached it to the 4-year petitions of Costanza.
