Shelby County Board Agenda – Activation of County Web Site & Live Stream Technology To Be Voted On

Shelby Co. (ECWd) –

The Shelby County Board has posted their agenda for their next regular meeting scheduled for 7 PM on Thursday the 9th, 2023.

The agenda includes a key item that the public has been wanting for years, a Shelby County government website. In addition to the website, the board is going to discuss and vote on obtaining the technology and subscription options for live streaming.

The agenda also includes a change to the physical year from December 1 – November 30.  We recall a few past board members wanting to do this but indicating they can’t once it was set, which was not accurate.

Another agenda item is a public comment policy.  Considering they already have a public comment policy we are not sure what changes may be made to the current one. While certain past board members wanted to further restrict the public’s right to speak, we doubt that is the case with the current board but won’t know for sure until the meeting.

If the county had a website it could provide the board packet that includes the matters to be voted on.  Doing that helps to inform the citizens of the actions to be taken and helps public comments to be focused on actual matters before the board. We would hope they include board packets on their website in the future.

A copy of the agenda can be downloaded at this link or viewed below.

The current board will get more done in 3 months than the prior board did in 3 years! Taxpayers finally have representation and protection. It is obvious MOST on this board know what it is to be a servant leader. It is obvious a few are more concerned with an agenda but they don’t fool the public. Shelby county taxpayers finally have something to be relieved about. Their vote counted and they have not been dropped like a hot potato by fake Republicans! Congratulations to SHELBY county taxpayers and citizens.
