UPDATE – Illinois Bait & Switch –  Insurance Code-Public Adjusters Bill Morphed Into Gun Ban Bill

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

On January 9, 2023

Illinois (ECWd) –

Once again we find the Illinois Senate has pulled a bait and switch on legislation in the closing hours of their term.

House Bill 5471 was introduced as an Insurance Code and Public Adjusters bill back in January of 2022.  Senate President Don Harmon filed an amendment late yesterday that guts and replaces the original bill.

Amend House Bill 5471 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:
“Section 1. This Act may be referred to as the Protect Illinois Communities Act.

While the name of the bill indicates it would protect Illinois Communities, the truth is it does next to nothing to protect anyone as criminals who commit gun violence do not pay attention to any laws on the books.

A copy of the filed amendment can be downloaded at this link or viewed below.  We understand there are going to be additional amendments to the filed version that will require the registration of certain firearms.

UDPATE – Another amendment has been made to the bill and it includes registrations of guns they define as assault weapons. A copy of that amendment can be downloaded at this link or viewed below the first amendment shown below.

HB 5471 Amendment 2

As I recall from my childhood days…..Evil men were taken to the town square and made an example, THUS Evil was in fear of the righteous. Sadly, apathy has brought us to the point of submission to Evil. The righteous fear Evil and are allowing its growth. Who will stand in the gap? Who will become Crusaders of Truth? At least “Watchdogs” are accepting this calling!

The dems always proclaim that just one more anti-2nd Amendment law will prevent the criminal use of firearms. Then when the new law is obeyed by only the lawful and completely disregarded by the unlawful, the dems again propose an additional “just one more law.”

Are the counties that have declared themselves “Second Amendment sanctuaries” going to live up to their promises?

Liberal hypocrites set the example of murdering over 61 million babies since 1973 for the children to learn murder is a problem-solving tool. Democrats teach human life has no value and then feign surprise when big cities like Chicago have 100’s of murders. Abortion loving politicians cry we need gun control, after they teach people murdering babies is okay. Abortion and the democrat’s baby killing agenda alike are deserving of our hatred for causing people to not value human life. Abortion is man’s inhumanity to man! Of course, the abortioncrats don’t allow the unborn baby a “right” to life, every sane person knows life begins at conception and knows the democrats teach children to NOT value human life by example, then they blame the guns for murders and wonder why there murders, their immorality and hypocrisy are obvious.

When will the anti-2nd amendment, gun grabbing liberal democrats raise their children to value human life? When will abortioncrats stop teaching there is NO shame in murdering an unborn baby and sometimes born babies? The definition of murder is the taking of an innocent life, there is not a more innocent life than that of an unborn or just born baby. Democrat lawmakers teach guns are evil, guns aren’t evil, teaching abortion is okay, is evil….

Look at Senate President Don Harmon’s picture, it screams, yes we screwed you all but we don’t care. ” by their deeds you shall know them” The first thing they teach in Democrat politics is the end always justifies the means. Nothing is unethical as long as it achieves your goal, moral turpitude doesn’t exist there.

The General Assembly puts all proposed bills on its website. The state constitution presently requires that every bill be read on three separate days in each chamber before it can get its final vote (3 days in House, 3 days in Senate). Here’s the catch though, every year they introduce hundreds, sometimes thousands of “shell bills”. In simple terms, a shell bill is an empty piece of legislation. They read it 3 days in one chamber and pass it. They then read it 2 days in the other chamber and it sets, often times for months. Then in the dark of night, they amend the bill with the actual legislation and require a vote within 24 hours by reading it for a third time. That is absolutely contrary to the meaning and intent of Article IV, section eight of the state of Illinois constitution. With dictatorial democrats we don’t have lawmakers, they are lawbreakers.

Liberal state legislators are ideologically driven and have no love for the law. They are unconcerned with whether their desires for government action are legal. Their basis for what is right or wrong is how strongly they ‘feel’ about it. If they think something ought to be this way or that, then they don’t care what the State Constitution says or the reasons it was written that way……

“The government is the potent omnipresent teacher. For good or ill it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. To declare that the end justifies the means to declare that the government may commit crimes would bring terrible retribution.” ~ Justice Louis D. Brandeis, (1856-1941) US Supreme Court Justice, Olmstead v. United States, 277 US 438, 1928
