Mattoon LIFT Teacher Suspended & Resigned; Allegedly Projected Pornography On Screen During Class –

Mattoon, IL. (ECWd) –

Mattoon CUSD #2 Culinary Arts Instructor in the “LIFT” (Leaders Integrating for Tomorrow) program, Jeff Pense, was suspended with pay on October 3, 2022, for the allegation that he projected pornography on the screen during a class of high school students.

He was also asked to attend an “informational gathering meeting” the following day.

It is unclear whether or not he attended that meeting, but we have received information that Pense resigned shortly after being suspended.

LIFT is an optional program in which several school districts have participated (read about it here).

Pense is not listed in the Illinois State Board of Education’s Educator Licensure Information System as a teacher, substitute teacher, or otherwise.
