Springfield, IL. (ECWd) –
Illinois State Senator Ann Gillespie recently introduced a Bill to essentially eliminate or make it extremely hard to offer firearms prizes for Poker Runs and Raffles for organizations such as the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Political Committees, and other nonprofits that may have been relying on those raffles to continue operating.
SB4224, Sponsored by Gillespie would prohibit anyone but a licensed firearms dealer from obtaining a Raffle License.
“Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Raffles and Poker Runs Act. Prohibits the State Board of Elections and the governing body of any county or municipality from issuing a license under the Act to a person that will offer a firearm as a prize at a poker run or raffle, unless that person is a certified licensee under the Firearm Dealer License Certification Act. Limits home rule powers. Defines “firearm”.”
The Raffles and Poker Runs Act already puts restrictions on who may or may not obtain a license, and each organization we have found raffling firearms requires the winners to redeem their winning prize(s) at a firearms dealer, and prove they are authorized to possess firearms.

Posted at 22:30h, 21 NovemberThese veterans, that YOU are running down, fought for your freedom and in turn ,you are making a foolish statement that is very low to veterans, who made it possible to make such a foolish statement.
Maybe you should pass a law, where your bad people CANNOT HAVE FIREARMS period
Punish BAD people and NOT good people
THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK

Posted at 09:01h, 22 NovemberThat violates :
SECTION 2. DUE PROCESS AND EQUAL PROTECTION
No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law nor be denied the equal protection of the laws. ~(Source: Illinois Constitution.)
This discrimination of a lawful activity violates:
SECTION 1. INHERENT AND INALIENABLE RIGHTS
All men are by nature free and independent and have certain inherent and inalienable rights among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. To secure these rights
and the protection of property, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. ~ (Source: Illinois Constitution.)

Posted at 09:09h, 22 NovemberThe butthead democrats are constantly making it more and more difficult and costly to exercise our constitutionally protected 2nd amendment by way of more and more over-regulations and taxation.
The supreme court: John Marshall in 1819 wrote that “The power to tax involves the power to destroy an unalienable right”. I would add that the power to regulate is the power to destroy a right too and these commie democrats know that

Posted at 09:25h, 22 NovemberThey need to understand the words “Shall Not Be Infringed”. I am hoping there will be some lawsuits coming down the pike for the Dem’s in Illinois for violating our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. These people are a joke.

Posted at 15:50h, 22 NovemberDemocrat Gillespie needs to focus on making Chicago a separate state so the rest of us, those that still believe in our constitution, can live in peace. Of course, she might also move to a country where firearms are prohibited, like China, Russia, or even Mexico (land of drug cartels) to see how things really work out.
Or even, she could take a stroll in down town Chicago by herself without a private security detail, in a place where the strictest gun laws apply, to see how effective hot air actually is.
She’s stupid. Criminals don’t follow the laws, honest law abiding, well armed citizens do. Infringing on our second amendment rights, shows her ignorance of our constitution and her ignorance as a legislator. Fellow veteran, Ted Lang said it right. Punish bad people.

Posted at 19:35h, 22 NovemberI wasn’t sure if her position was/is anti-guns or anti-veterans until I read it several times and let it really sink in. Then I realized she stood over law abiding veterans
and took a bug healthy dump on us. Why?

Posted at 22:30h, 22 NovemberToo little protest and way too late. As soon as laws are established requiring a license, permit, certification, authorization, requirement, approval, inspection, etc., a right becomes a privilege. Privileges are granted. Didn’t see that coming, did we? So much for our “rights” – and not just firearms..
