Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should.
According to StThomasSource.com, Rodney Davis flew to the tropical island to spend the 2022 New Year’s holidays on the island to “visit USVI election systems” at the St/ Croix Elections Office.
We understand taxpayers were on the hook for his travel but cannot verify if his family members traveled on the taxpayer’s dime or not.
The point here are the optics of his “bad timing” when compared to his ruthless scorched earth campaign against his opponent in the upcoming election.
After all, who would choose the new year’s holiday time to “study” election systems on St. Thomas without an ulterior motive of a “free” tropical vacation in the middle of winter while his constituents are having troubles simply paying their heating bills?
From a man who claims others are taking advantage of taxpayers, this does not look good for him.
