PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –
According to court records, Conan McArthur entered a plea of Guilty yesterday for his role in setting the fire(s) in the former Save-A-Lot grocery store last year.
Sentencing for McArthur is scheduled for July 18, 2022, at 2:30 p.m.
Since the fire destroyed much of the building’s electrical switching system, the grocery store permanently closed its doors and no longer keeps a location in Edgar County. This closure came a few months after Kroger left the county, leaving Walmart as one of the only places for Paris and surrounding area residents to purchase groceries.
