Illinois Governor Pritzker has announced that starting Monday, February 28, 2022, there will be no mask mandates in Illinois schools.
He claims this comes on the heels of the CDC’s changing guidance.
Just hours prior to his announcement, the Illinois Supreme Court denied the state’s appeal of the Sangamon County Circuit Court’s TRO as moot, however, it did vacate the TRO based on the Appellate Court’s decision to moot the state’s appeal and cited case law stating when an appeal is rendered moot for certain reasons, all lower court orders are dismissed.
The Supreme Court sent all of it back to Sangamon County Circuit Court to hear the pending cases.
