Edited to correct spellings.
A Cook County Judge granted a Motion to Disqualify the Odelson Law Firm, preventing them from representing the Calumet City Clerk in the lawsuit brought by the city against the clerk, and effectively also in the suit brought by the clerk against the city.
Ross Secler represented the Clerk and Odelson.
Keri-Lyn J. Krafthefer represented Calumet City.
The issues as presented by Plaintiff City of Calumet City were:
- Odelson represents the city in approximately 15 other cases
- Odelson’s most recent invoice to the city was for more than $25k
- Plaintiff alleged “Black Letter Conflict of Interest” on Odleson
The Judge granted the Motion to Disqualify.
Next hearing on other matters scheduled for February 4, 2022.
