PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –
Earlier this week, we were informed by a reliable source that someone had broken into several pallets of mail delivered to the Paris, Illinois, Post Office by Amazon delivery.
The pallets were apparently delivered prior to postal employees arriving for work, and one or more people took advantage of the situation, rifled through the pallets, and took what they wanted.
The Paris Police Department has confirmed the investigation is being handled by the United States Postal Inspectors.
Theft of U.S. Mail is a federal crime, and unlike the recent local crimes going unprosecuted, we believe (and hope) these thieves, when caught, will be prosecuted in federal court.

Posted at 10:53h, 05 NovemberWhy is the U S mail being left outside? Amazon should be responseable It’s not the Post Office problem until they take possession of it.
Thats like leaving your keys in your car and crying because someone stole it!
