Shamar Betts Sentenced To 4 Years; $1.5 Million Restitution For His Part In Market Place Riot – –

Champaign, IL. (ECWd) –

Shamar Betts pled guilty in Federal Court earlier this year on one Count of “Inciting a Riot” and this week was sentenced to 4 years in federal prison, according to WAND he was credited with one year for time served awaiting trial on state charges that he plead guilty to at an earlier date. Three years of probation, and restitution of $1.5 million (reserved – until a future hearing on the restitution).

Minute entry for proceedings held on 8/19/2021 before Judge Michael M. Mihm. Appearance for the Government by AUSA Eugene Miller. Defendant SHAMAR BETTS present in person with counsel AFPD Elisabeth Pollock and Thomas Drysdale. Sentencing hearing continued as to Shamar Betts, Count 1 from 6/14/2021. The Court order defendant committed to the custody of the BOP for a period of 36 months. Following release from custody the defendant shall serve a 3 year term of supervised release. $100 special assessment is imposed. The issue of restitution is reserved.     His public defender is mom to one of the kids he purportedly engaged with during park district’s programming? That’s a strange case assignment for a district newcomer. I’m also wondering how his pleading landed on sentencing standards for jail time and the restitution.

    He would have gotten a lighter sentence if he had stormed the Capital, beat some cops, and attempted to overthrow an election… and was white.

      I would love to have a pair of work boots made from that “RaceCard” material! It never wears out! Oh yea WORK, that’s what you do to support yourself and your family, not lay around waiting for the government give you a handout!

        You white men sure get triggered when somebody points out the statistical fact that blacks serve more time in prison than whites do for the same crime.

        So “they” are all lazy and unemployed? Are they all stupid too? They all coming to rape your wife?

        Let me guess, you wanna get back to the “good old days” and have your own drinking fountains and schools.

        Those white traitors on January 6th need sent to Gitmo for 20 years. Democracy is for everyone. Not just who the white man thinks it is for.
