Michigan (ECWd) –
Greenleaf Township, population 740, was ordered to pay $140,000 in legal fees and a $500 verdict for violating the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
Michigan, like Illinois, has fee shifting provisions in its Open Meetings and Open Records laws.
We must state the obvious; that compliance with the law, or admitting wrong-doing when it was pointed out, would have resulted in no or limited attorney fees.
The Detroit News reported on this (here), and Steve Lehto explained this in a YouTube video (below).

Posted at 12:42h, 25 JuneCould you please look into SD103 in Lyons, IL? Their abuse of authority is outrageous, they have not had a closed session in a year. Hires, fires, contracts, etc. are approved with no discussion, rubber stamp, political board.
