Five Illinois Department of Corrections officers (Pontiac State Correctional Institution) found themselves locked up on the wrong side of the bars in McLean County after a wild night out-on-the-town.
BLNNEWS (Diane Benjamin) was tipped about five Illinois Department of Corrections employees of the Pontiac, Illinois State Prison being arrested in Lexington, Illinois after allegedly instigating a bar fight and injuring an elderly person (over 60 years of age) on the evening of February 12, 2021.
We noticed no local media has covered this yet, so we FOIA’d the information as did Diane.
The Lexington, IL. Police Chief reported pursuant to e FOIA request:
The following individuals were arrested stemming from an incident that occurred at “Dat Bar” 402 West Main St. Lexington, IL on 02/12/21 at
approximately 10:47 p.m.
Adam Deal, age 38 of Pontiac, IL. Deal was arrested for Aggravated Battery. The McLean County State Attorney’s also charge him with Mob Action. Bond was set at $50,000 10%. Deal has posted bond.
Nicholas Page, age 25 of Peoria, IL. Page was arrested for Aggravated Battery. The McLean County State Attorney’s also charge him with Mob Action. Bond was set at $30,000 10%. Page has posted bond.
Adam Greenway, age 29 of Flanagan, IL. Greenway was arrested for Aggravated Battery. The McLean County State Attorney’s also charge him with Mob Action. Bond was set at $20,000 10%. Greenway has posted bond.
Jason Dyer, age 43 of Cooksville, IL. Dyer was arrested for Aggravated Battery. The McLean County State Attorney’s also charge him with Mob Action. Bond was set at $30,000 10%. Dyer has posted bond.
Gino Wendes, age 24 of Kankakee, IL. Wendes was arrested for Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Battery to a person over the age of 60. The McLean County State Attorney’s also charge him with Mob Action. Bond was set at $20,000 10%. Wendes has posted bond.
Deal, Dyer, Greenway and Wendes were arrested at the Lexington Police Department on 02/24/21 after interviews were conducted. Page was arrested the following morning after interviews were conducted.
We are waiting on mugshots and charge sheets from the McLean County Sheriff’s Department.

IDOC has not responded to our request for comment at this time.

Posted at 12:03h, 04 MarchThe commenter who claims that Renner correctly draws into question the veracity of the ECWd’s ought to get their own head examined. If not, a sample review of Illinois Leaks reportings could be somewhat therapeutic.
In the future, maybe the Pantagraph’s editorial board will assume responsibility for the local news reporting gaps filled by Illinois Leaks.
