McLean Co. (ECWd) –
We ran our story on the City of Bloomington police coverup in this article. After that article published and the Mayor got called out during public comment by Diane Benjamin of BLNNews, the Mayor went on a rant that included lies, false accusations, and personal attacks. He then doubled down during a follow-up radio interview. We covered his rants in this article. We also had to correct the misinformation provided by the city manager during his radio interview on the matter in this article.
The Steve Suess Show took the time to actually read all the reporting on the matter and did a great job letting the public know the truth of the matter. The radio host confirmed the city is not talking and he wonders what the other side of the story is. Stay tuned because there is more to the story and now that the Mayor was foolish enough to run his mouth we will publish the other failures of the city in what all points to a coverup of a dirty cop.
If there are any good civil rights attorney’s they might want to contact the person that was arrested in violation of his rights as confirmed in the investigative findings.
While we have been unable to get an official confirmation, it appears the goal was to keep the matter out of the press at all costs as to avoid a man of color from suing the city for violating his rights in a bogus arrest and then fabricating an assault charge on a police report.
You can listen to the radio coverage below.

Posted at 21:10h, 02 MarchNotably, Mayor Renner is not among the speakers featured at IWU’s Department of Political Science lecture series titled “Perspectives on Civil Rights and Race” in 2015. That’s not to say Mayor Renner attended or listened to any of the speakers.

Posted at 12:42h, 01 MarchOnce again, politicians hide, deceive, then get pissed off when they are challenged and exposed. Who, in their right mind, would believe that. within a system, there wouldn’t be someone who would be itching to expose a coverup and…the truth?
A friend here, a business deal there, professional relationships everywhere…something gets ignored or buried (hidden) and someone prospers in some big or little way. Enter…the honest people who are scattered throughout government and private entities who are, in no way in hell, going to let wrongs go unexposed. People are fools for trying to cover crap up. When will they ever learn? Granted, this incident MAY not rise to the criminal level for the coveruppers but, at any level, one should always be asking him/herself, “is it worth my reputation, my job, my freedom, and my family?” Oh, and when the truth is discovered, give it up. It’s not worth all of the aforementioned risks. Crazy and foolish.
