New Lenox, IL. (ECWd) –
In December of 2015, we published our first of many articles on the former Lincoln-Way School Superintendent Lawrence Wyllie.
Our investigation revealed improper employment contracts, using $44,000 of public school funds for a “Super-Dog” dog training school on school property where his private dogs would get trained, forcing school employees to perform work on his private residence, a sweet (and we believe corrupt) deal for Aunt Nancy’s Daycare within the school buildings, the district’s $500,000,000 in bond debt, the closing of the district’s newest high school decades before it was to be paid off, the district’s questionable auditing practices, free rent for for-profit business on school property, and Wyllie’s subsequent federal investigation and grand jury indictment.
Since his indictment, he has been claiming health problems, which has postponed his trial dates – now closing on three years.
This latest filing in the Northern District of Illinois shows a new status hearing scheduled for March 8, 2021, with the time “tolled” or excluded from counting toward statute of limitations to prosecute.
