DuPage Township – Second Agency Confirms Pending Law Enforcement Proceeding of Former Supervisor Bill Mayer

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

On December 30, 2020

Will Co. (ECWd) –

Yesterday we published this article confirming the ongoing criminal investigation of the former DuPage Township Supervisor Bill Mayer.  In that article we noted that the Village of Bolingbrook had not complied with our FOIA request.

This morning the City of Bolingbrook responded.  Within the denial for records was one of the key exemptions we had hoped to confirm when we asked for the records.

“5 ILCS 140/7(1)(d)(i). Records are exempt because there is a pending law enforcement proceeding.”

So now we have two independent confirmations there is in fact an ongoing law enforcement investigation into Bill Mayer, contrary to what DuPage Township Trustees Burgess and Oliver are telling people.

We note that Bolingbrook did not properly comply with our FOIA as the deadline for their response was December 29th and while the letter is dated as such, the meta data confirms they modified their response on December 30, 2020, the day it was actually sent.  Their failure to respond within the time line constitutes a violation.

A copy of the FOIA request and the Village’s response can be downloaded at this link or viewed below.

from the 1966 feature film, “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”

Recalling the ECWd’s news with the township meeting video recording, as represented by the photograph with this latest news:

The good. During the township meeting, the former township supervisor repeatedly used a respectful pronunciation of each of the trustees’ names.

But just barely. Later in that meeting, upon the board’s receipt a volunteer’s in person report, one trustee (Oliver) responded by markedly patronizing the community volunteer.

Bad as in not worsening. Now, the same ‘trustee’ and their associate are campaigning on social media in a attempt to exonerate the former township supervisor of criminal conduct.

Beauty is skin deep, but ugly goes all the way to the bone.
