Looks like the ISP are being tasked to look into indoor dining but are ranked #3 for failure to respond to Freedom of Information Act requests. Per the Better Government Association…

    https://www.bettergov.org/news/analysis-illinois-law-hasnt-stopped-public-agencies-from-withholding-records

Aren’t the ISP also on the security detail for any IL Governor, regardless of his or her party affiliation? And yet they frequently refuse to release public records? So they’re sent to what? Just look scary?

An Executive Order is not actual “law” unless passed by the Legislature and especially not if it is unconstitutional! Hence they were probably dispatched to look scary.

Maybe start fulfilling the backlog of FOIA requests and fighting real crimes instead of being the Indoor Dining Food Police?

    Tsk tsk

No wonder Illinois has massive outmigration.

Sending the cops to be the Food Police?

    What a joke.

Well at least they weren’t tasering diabetics in the middle of a seizure!

My theory is, If people are so afraid of this virus, stay home do not patronize these places, stay away from family or friend gatherings, stay 6 ft. From other people, you should, but……….. leave the rest of us that choose to patronize these places of businesses,, choose to attend various gatherings and not distance ourselves away from other people to live as we choose. We are a free people (so far) and we choose to not live in fear. If you want to, fine, you are free to do that, but the rest of us choose otherwise. We could get in our vehicle and be hit head on and killed in an accident, are you going to stop driving out of fear of that happening, like so many people have died that way ?? I don’t think so !!!! I’ve made my point !!!

A majority of the Illinois economy is open. He never closed down restaurants just want to close indoor dining. You can still have outdoor dining or takeout. I know someone who owns a restaurant and they opened a car-hop business where people eat in their cars in the parking lot, and the waitress comes to your car and takes your order. What is wrong with adjusting your business like that.
I also know someone who got this virus and they are in the hospital for it.
Freedom is not about doing want to…sometimes its about helping others out.
Also bars are closed. Well he made it a law that beer can be delivered to houses, so what is the difference if you are drinking at home or at a bar, but this will limit the amount of Drunk Drivers on the road.
But hey its all about what people want to do, it’s like watching a group of spoiled teenagers arguing about following rules their parents put in place.

Besides who cares if Pritzker travels out of state for Thanksgiving. He never stopped anyone from traveling. He even stated in his briefings that there are people who travel out of state for work or school, and they even said if you need to travel or have large gatherings for Thanksgiving to make sure everyone is wearing a mask, and socially distanced. He never said you cant travel or visit family, just do it safely. They just urge people to do it by zoom or skype because its safer.

Maybe if you create a business, and just apply that asinine method of doing business, you’d know how close you’d get to bankruptcy.

The extra cost of buying and setting up those ridiculous outside tents, heat lamps, propane gas, for some tables outside, and limited to say, about 1/4 of what your business was scaled for inside, are all on top of any fixed or marginal costs. Even assuming that there are enough gullible sheeps willing to freeze their buns off eating outside, your total cost would still be much higher than what you’d take in. In the real adult world, that’s call a losing business plan.

Sounds like a public school teacher or a government employee pitching a business plan. Hey, the midget commie mayor in Chicago just decided to take a 30-year loan out to pay for all of the current annual salaries of the city’s employees. You may want to apply for a job there, in the finance department. You’d fit right in. Don’t forget to copy what you wrote here onto your resume.

By the way, freedom means not having to be forced to be slaves to the government in the name of helping others. I’ve been there, done that, and escaped that sh!thole. Not interested in that crap ever again. You’re free to fork over all of your savings for the benefit of others, though. Do it!

Who cares if he does goes to another state he is following his own guidelines. He owns multiple houses so even if he goes to one of them…he is still at home. It’s not like he is overseas on vacation or something. Many celebrities own multiple houses that they travel too back and forth for stay at home orders.
Just look at Trump. He owns multiple homes, and his coronavirus task force told us back in April to not travel, and had travel bans and then his Daughter Ivanka goes to New Jersey for passover, which was a high risk hotspot for the virus….I guess president Trump doesn’t even follow his own rules…..but hey he can get away with anything.

Funny how you guys believe anything you read online about the Governor, but anything you read about the president is “fake news”…..well how do you know the photos they post of the Governor is not old photos they are claiming to be new just so they don’t have to follow his rules…

So, in other words, they are just harassing these business people. If all restaurants joined together and stayed open, they cannot close all of them. Those persons worried about their health, do not have to go to a restaurant or bar–the rest can and these businesses will hopefully be able to stay in business.

Well, that way of life, where each person conducts his/her own affairs according to his/her own wish, is too American. They can’t have that. Haven’t you see the blue wave that’s supposedly covering the country?

I wonder at what point will Americans just go back to the old-school method of exercising our Constitutional rights.

I live in Winnebago County. Many restaurants have stayed open to avoid going bankrupt. The county health department has visited some as many as 6 times, issuing orders to close. They stay open as there is no legal basis to their orders.

Yeah, good try. Just throwing a comment like that is suppose to make it a fact?

Do you live there? Have you been there recently? I’d say no.

And of course, the leftist commies are so much more enlightened, and everyone else is a retard. That’s very politically incorrect and non-inclusive for such a tolerant group of people.

Seems like the RATS like you never learn, and never can respond to some simple questions.

How or why can the US government dictate matters of commerce to anyone? Ever heard of the Constitution? Ever heard of dictators and socialists heroes? Yeah, they don’t like the US Constitution much, either.

China, Cuba, NK, Venezuela, and Vietnam are some potential paradises for your enlightened lot to consider. No US Constitution there at all! Those leaders know exactly how to keep you safe!!

Not saying the CCP virus is a hoax, just way over hyped to control sheeps.

Second, nice response, but that’s not how it is in IN at large. There are people (not me, of course, so don’t report me 🙁 ) that have been in the process of moving to IN, and it ain’t like what you said.

By the way, if you’ve actually been to IN regularly, aren’t you in direct violation of your leaders’ travel ban? You’re either lying like a typical RAT, or just a hypocrite, where your rules are for other people and not for you. Very much in line w/ your commie tyrants.

So you’re traveling to IN several nights a week, defying your travel ban (yea, freedom!), eating out at restaurants that are open (yea, capitalism!!!), and are OK w/ these commies here imposing their grip on our lives? Yeah, good comrade.

      Okay, someone’s gotta do it.

“here’ is an adverb.” If you “don’t here complaints…” its probably due to an inordinate buildup of a waxy substance between your ears. Hear is a verb. Not hearing, or not having a particular audio sensation can often be explained by a person who uses a hearing aide with a weak or dead battery.

Easy answer. Because they’re better than us. Because that’s how communists roll.
In this country during the last few months, we’ve already seen examples of ONLY dems govs and mayors blatantly and freely do as they please while their rules are for the rest of us. Here are those dear leaders: Whitmer (MI), Pugsly and family & midget commie mayor (IL), slick newsome & plastic pelosi (CA), Fredo & diblasio (NY), levine (PA).

In other commie havens: fat and well fed CCP and NK dictators while their people starve, Venezuela, Cuba, and Vietnam, same story, where those dear leaders’ families are near godliness, why their citizens live in despair and poverty.

Ask anyone who escaped from communism, and the story is always the same. It’s only us “stupid” Americans that don’t seem to get it, so we’re just letting that cancer slowly take over and destroy our way of life.

You do know how the no shirts no shoes mantra got started. It goes back to the days of excluded people of color from establishments. Very racist comparison.
Also trying to use the seat belt comparison is a false narrative since it is not a privledge to eat not own a business.
Sorry about the individuals you know that died of Covid 19 but you have no right forcing your measures on others.

(Sorry, the photo wouldn’t input to the comments section. Just Google Elian Gonzales photo to see this historically iconic photo of a wild-eyed federal police officer point a real H & K MP5 automatic rifle at a terrified little boy.)

I don’t get it – some people are so afraid – so I guess these same people go barefoot in restaurants and stores because hey, I feel like going bare foot and no blanky blanky government is going to tell me no shirt no shoes & I’m not going to wear a seat belt for the same reason – well, ok let’s keep it going — I don’t really like going 20 mph in a school zone, so what if it’s for the safety of the public “it my rights” tough on the public. This is what I hear all those whiners about masks and limits to restaurants for the public safety of all. I’ve had 3 people I know who have died of the virus, Quit whining!

    • HT
      Posted at 15:02h, 15 November

Quit propagandizing! Is that you JaBa?

Still haven’t answered some simple questions. Where do you get money for your food? Are you a teacher or a government leach who already got paid for not working? You can’t be a person who works for a living that depends on others participating in the process of commerce, because you have no clue of how working people make a living. Free people don’t get fed by the government.

Yeah, quite a few people died of car crashes over the last few months. Stop driving!
I know 2 cases of death by choking. Stop eating!
I know 4 people who died this year because they were just over 85+ years old. Stop getting old!
2 weeks ago, near the UIC campus, there were 2 people walking on the sidewalk during lunch time, died when they were struck by a car that ran onto the sidewalk. Stop walking on the sidewalk!

Out of +11 million people in IL, and there are so many deaths every single day due to various causes, what do you think the % of death from this virus is? How many are due to other than old age or poor health? What’s the actual mortality rate of this CCP virus? What’s the recovery rate for those who got the CCP virus? You’re either a government leach or just a mental midget, otherwise, you’d be able to answer the above questions.

If you love to have some obese tyrant telling you how to live your life just so you can feel safe, I suggest you seek residence with the CCP, after you rescind your American citizenship (if you even had one).

FYI, the judge already ruled that Pugsly’s EOs are invalid. Besides, no one should take health advice from the pictures of diabetes and coronary disease that make up this state and the city of Chicago’s leaders and health officials. Nasty and sloppy looking bunch.

Why can’t businesses conduct their own affairs? Let businesses tell their customers what to wear. If private businesses don’t want to make money, let them decide that on their own. If they want people to suit up for surgery to go in their establishments, do so, and sheeps like you can patronize those places. The rest of us will go where we are welcomed or where we want,

Go buy your bubble suit and STOP PROPAGANDIZING!

Wow, some emotional rant, and somehow pulling Trump into it. Did Trump order endless lockdowns? Who has been calling for the country to open up? Who ordered the lockdowns here while their own family members travel freely and go out in large riots w/o any restrictions? Check your emotion and your facts.

So Pugsly’s pot businesses and abortion clinics, along w/ all of the big corporate stores are ok to stay open, but decent small businesses built by private citizens are to be punished based on illegal orders? Maybe redirect your emotion and compassion toward those who deserve them? Why are RATS so nasty?

I sympathize with you not being able to open.

I get it that most people are afraid of the fines and the formality of having officials showing up at your place of business, but isn’t it ridiculous that it’s whatever they “feel” as a risk?

Maybe businesses should form a compact, pool money together, and file a lawsuit against these tyrants on Constitutional grounds. It’s no doubt costly and time consuming, but there are precedents where individual businesses won, definitely on non-virus issues.

This is not right, and should not be happening in America.

Discerning ECWd news commenters previously established a bonified lack of regional representation embodied by IDPH JCAR. Previously, before the July/August timeframe, IDPH “power” was much more limited, and could not have fined your business. I think the lack of regional representation on the JCAR is tantamount to a lack of diversity in Illinois State Government.
