Illinois Governor Pritzker’s Claim Of Following the Science And Data Appears To Be False…According To The Data

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

On September 19, 2020

Illinois (ECWd) –

From day one of Governor Pritzker’s Executive Orders he has made claims which are simply false.  For example, as we exposed in this article, his first Executive Order related to COVID 19 had nothing to do with protecting the health and safety of Illinois citizens as he claimed.  Instead, he protected the marijuana industry which he has family ties to.

How about the science and data for the closing of so many different businesses and churches?  Who knew, until now, churches only accounted for 2.3% of the cases in Illinois?  Or that Retail Stores only account for 1.2% and Sports teams -.97%. Those massive restaurant and bar closures, the bars had fewer numbers than the restaurants, 3.39% for the bars and 4.97% for the Restaurants.

In a time where “science and data” is supposed to be the driving force behind protecting Illinois citizens, one must wonder why there is no data for cases tied to protests or casinos.  Remember all the criminals he released?  Prison or Jail accounted for only 3.76%.

Seven months into this pandemic and we now find what is being told to the public does not match what is being shared with Health Departments across the state.  For example, IDPH publicly published a massive spike in testing and cases for September 4, 2020. They claimed to have tested 149,273 on that day.  On that same day they report to the public there was the highest number of positive cases documented in the history of the virus in Illinois, 5,368.

Why is that spike in positive cases reported to the public not found on the documents shared with local health departments?

While the Governor continues to claim science and data are the driving force behind his tyrannical lockdowns and orders in this state, maybe he should explain to the public why the actual deaths are declining even though cases are on the rise?  Is it possible the science side of this matter, as in our awesome medical patient care experts, have figured out how to better treat those in need of hospital care?

As if all this “science and data” the Governor claims he is following is not troubling enough, how about the tying of that data to the mask mandate?  Early on the so-called “experts” warned that the use of masks for the healthy was not advised. In fact, it was discouraged for several reasons, of which one was because it could lead to more cases because people would be fiddling with their masks because they are not used to wearing one and that would lead to more cases.

Looking at the data, Illinois hit a low from the first peak just after the middle of June.  May 29th was the face mask mandate.  About three weeks after that mandate, positive cases climbed. Is it possible the data is telling us the masks were doing exactly what the “experts” told us in the beginning?   Considering I have yet to find one person who washes their mask after being out in public, it is quite possible that masks are a contributing factor to the increased numbers.  Don’t take this to mean masks don’t help to slow the spread.  We are simply suggesting the data points to more cases shortly after the mask mandate and that mandate had no guidance on the importance of making sure the mask you wear does not have a valve, is disposed of after use, or washed regularly if you’re using homemade masks.

In the words of Moses, “Let My People Go”.

The whole CV19 project was a global scam from the get go. A massive lie of historic proportions. There really isn’t data to support any “measures” past or current. However, there are deaths and real damage caused by those measures.
The IL Congress should re-up serious impeachment efforts yesterday.

See, the thing is, these measures only work WHEN PEOPLE ACTUALLY FOLLOW THEM. Since at least Memorial Day and probably earlier, many people – plenty many, like . . . most I’ve seen in public – have been ignoring the virus and their responsibilities to their communities to help stop the spread. Mask wearing was common before the mandate, and three weeks after the mandate is . . . voila – three weeks after people stopped following the guidelines and started whining about their “freedoms.” I won’t even go into the idiot in the White House and his part in all this, which is well known and well documented – by he himself. This rag piece only proves one thing – any two idiots can get a low-rent website to post their useless dimwitted drivel – just ask Donald Trump and Mike Pence. Wash your hands, stay home as much as possible, avoid large gatherings, wear your masks properly when in public, and stop your whining – or you’ll eventually have something to really whine about.

Funny how “freedoms” are only bad if you don’t like them. Grow up and take responsibility for you own health, or are you too incompetent to do that without a higher authority telling you? Sad.

Gee whiz! Got hate? Would of liked to see how you would have handled the crisis. Sounds like you would like to have a dictator in charge instead of people being free. Dang, you people that hate Trump are amazingly hateful. You probably even have a no hate here sign in your yard! You simply ignore that Obama shut down testing for H1N1 in 2009 and 60 million had the flu. Did everybody panic and ask Obama to panic us all? No, he did not and neither should Trump have panicked us.

Fall in line like a good little sheeple and keep believing what they want you to believe. You and your kind are why this country is circling the bowl like a huge turd that simply won’t flush. It’s time to wake up. Do some REAL research about what’s going on and stop believing this inept and brain dead state government. The people in power don’t care about us. And yet Sweden with no lockdown mandates fared better than those with extreme measures. With a whopping 3 covid deaths in our county (less than typical flu) I’m not concerned in the least about the virus but rather the imbeciles running our state and the fools who buy their lies.

You’re the fucking moron. Masks stop the spread of the virus. There are no facts and science that backs that up. Why were prisoners released? Why isn’t everything opened up then? That comment is grossly false. You think vaccines will stop this? Why does the flu come back every winter and still kill tens of thousands of people? Nice try.

This article, in fact, proves nothing.
So only single digit percentages of cases cone from restaurants and churches. When you consider multiply that percent by the population, that’s a lot of people, period. We’re they supposed to shut down nursing homes instead? What are you even saying?
Positivity rates up and deaths down because obviously a new virus is going to be its deadliest to the vulnerable when it’s first presented, and since then more people all the time are flouting the common sense guidance.
This article is senseless bullshit that only makes this shit worse. Especially for those of us that actually do feel we have a duty to our fellow man; especially for those of us that are very close to and need to protect the vulnerable.
    Grow up. Learn compassion.

Renee G., You are 100% correct. This article is propaganda intended to discredit the governor. He has been working hard to inform and protect the public. The pandemic is real and healthcare workers are risking their lives to treat these unfortunate patients. People are eager to blame the governor because they don’t like to follow rules but this time the consequences of disobedience is tragic suffering and death. Mature, responsible people understand the importance of protecting others and themselves from this contagious virus. Wearing a mask is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of strength and caring. The spread of the virus must end and each of us are responsible to cooperate.

I’m curious, who closed all the state parks this spring? Was it the govermor or the IDNR director. For the moment, let’s consider no other admin closed all state parks for any and all activity. And for the moment, pretend your not a wealthy landowner. Now, like other citizens have done, go get the data about the positive health impacts of being outdoors. You sir, ain’t 100% wrong but a solid 85% you’ve made again.

Meanwhile all evidence of limited mask use and a more open economy (TX, FL, SD, Sweden) all point to a faster solution with fewer issues, whereas all data of hard lockdowns have been leading to larger casualty counts.
Don’t confuse case count with death count. Hospitalization and Death is the true metric, not cases. Cases become less relevant when they’re not properly parsed. And this article is a good example of that.

I heard that before. Some powers that be, unfortunately, are attempting to terrify the public. Having arrived to September, and almost to October, their credibility has lessened and a forced masl mandate would not be heeded by the majority of the public
That goes triple for any further attempts to force another lockdown.
There is a huge legal battle going on in New Jersey (I believe) with a membership-required gym called Attila’s. The owners were arrested twice for simply trying to run their business, with extensive safety measures put in place.

Having arrived to September, and almost October, a lot more has been learned about the Covid virus. A national mask mandate would mot be well received by the public, and is unconstitutional.
That goes triple for any further attempts to force another lockdown.

Agreed. The horrible side effect to this whole mess has been the financial losses borne by smaller, family owned businesses
Attila’s, located in, I believe New Jersey, is one example. Both owners were arrested twice, have incurred heavy fines, simply because they have tried to run their business (A membership gym) with full safety measures in place.

Wow! The sky is falling, the sky is falling lets run and panic. Kiddies this is socialism at it’s best. Shut up, wear your mask, stay at home do what your told…cuz I’m the gov. (with no legal right to shut down a business…that’s the IDPH Department’s job).
Lets bankrupt businesses, destroy our economy and believe in a placebo. Let’s all panic.
For all of you quacks out there, the truth is, only those over 60 with medical conditions really need be concerned…statistically speaking of course. Those less than 60 in good health need to be working,: businesses need to be open. products and services need to be produced.
IN Illinois, Your chances of dying in an auto accident are slightly less than from the China Virus I’ll bet all of you whiners are still driving cars. You paranoid types…need to be aware there’s a cold virus, a flu ;virus and many others out there. So, just stay in your basement, keep to yourself.. The China Virus didn’t just arrive, we know it’s here and we can make our own decision better than Pritzker..
By the way, have you noticed the businesses leaving Illinois…and closing while you hide from your shadow? Shopping Malls closing, stores leaving,. less goods available? Even medical personnel questioning the value of masks and isolation in terms of harming the larger immunity of the herd? Hum…didn’t consider that?

Only in Illinois is the cure worse than the disease…………..

How have you democrats evolved? Obviously not very well! You would give up our freedoms to feel a little bit of security. As Ben Franklin said you deserve neither. We go farther and farther into debt. We keep giving free health care to the illegals, I work in health care, so I do know. Give away, give away, then there is nothing left. As Margaret Thatcher said socialism is wonderful until you run out of other people’s money. You can bet the Democrat elites will never run out of money. They made sure of that, but the retirees will find out soon there is no money, just monopoly money. Just my opinion, it does not have to be yours.

I absolutely love that people who claim science is leading the pack are inherently correct. If you actually look at the science it’s staggering how terrible the lock downs are in every scenario. First off, there has been a mask study, which proved, cloth masks especially, are worse than no mask, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25903751/
Second, has anyone considered suicide, domestic abuse and violence and untreated medical issues vs virus death rates? It’s staggering how many more people died from untreated illnesses, children and spouses from untreated illnesses, etc… than from the virus. The CDC admitted that if you count deaths from COVID-19 like the flu the actual number of deaths would be 12,000. Look at the states that never closed any business, they fair better than the states that shut down, curious… there are alternatives that no one wants to discuss, maybe let people make a choice as to what’s best for themselves? If you’re high risk and scared stay away from people who go out? If you want to live under dictatorial control just move to China and let the rest of us enjoy personal responsibility and freedom. Please stop trying to force everyone else to follow your beliefs! I’m sorry some of us disagree, but this is a free country, and the laws of the state and country prevent someone from taking the control fat shit forced on us. If you’re scared, shelter in fear, but don’t expect everyone else to.

  • Todd Anderson
    Posted at 07:04h, 20 September

Wow! Has any one if you stopped to consider that just maybe the reason we have such low rates is because of the mitigation efforts and the restrictions that were put into place?

I had some clown at work “explaining” to me that since surrounding states had much worse rates than we did, how could it be considered dangerous to allow our kids to play sports. Therr was no way to explain logic to someone with such a distorted view if reality.

Just like this article, bringing up how churches only account for a small percentage……. Really Sherlock!!??? Thats because they were CLOSED and the cases resulted when people didn’t follow the executive orders which ARE based on science, unlike this anecdotal article.

This isn’t journalism, it’s right wing extremism.

This comment reminds of a sign on the front door of a Jewel/Osco store. The sign did as much to misinform shoppers: “By executive order of the governor, face coverings are required to enter….”

At the customer service desk, the clerk who received me paged one of the store managers. When the assistant arrived at the customer service desk, nstead of providing the EO number referenced on the sign, the guy tried directing me to Google to find the EO number.

Few front door entry signs I’ve encounter are worse. Using a political science to misinform others ain’t just disseminating bad data.

Did you consider Sweden with no draconian mandates or shutdowns fared better than those with extreme measures? Or that over half the covid deaths occurred in assisted care facilities even with masks, no visitors and very extreme measures. And how exactly is it covid can distinguish between large gatherings at Walmart, etc and a church with fewer people less frequently gathering. Keep drinking the liberal koolaide.

The damage from the lockdown even if lifted today will go on for years to come. Just went to the movies the other day and we were the only people in the building. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, so here I am.

If never exposed to the Sars-CoV-2 virus one cannot die from COVID-19 infection. However, this does not mean one cannot die from other indirect effects of the pandemic caused by our responses. No doubt a “sweet spot” exists where all the potential direct and indirect ill effects of the pandemic and our responses to it can be perfectly balanced. But that “spot” would move based on each individual’s judgement on how to weight all the outcomes.

Rocket science was at least 700 years old when Challenger exploded. The science of Sars-CoV-2 like pandemics is less than a year old. Many of the current senior scientists in the pandemic field cut their teeth on another “novel” virus pandemic: HIV-AIDS. Influenza pandemics have been extensively studied for almost exactly 100 years. Recent scares from SARS, MERS, Zika, Ebola etc also influence our collective thinking.

Two of many dangers to consider are inherent in both extrapolating from other seemingly similar situations and forgetting the ancient dictum that the “treatment can be worse than the disease.” Science can help but mother nature abhors short cuts. The “scientific method” is a process designed to maximize objectivity while recognizing that the human has yet to be born who possesses absolute objectivity. Even the most objective observer can be fooled by randomness. One cannot rely on “scientists” any more or less than one can rely on “politicians.”

Both scientists and politicians have agendas.

The wealthy Illinois governor was accepted into a jurisdoctorate program with a political science degree. Let’s not equate Pritzker’s political science bias with the bias many other fields of science and study deliberately seek to minimize. Instead, whenever an elected official like Governor Pritzker asserts “it’s not political,” make a principled finding of absurd.

I’m looking forward to the Sangamon County Circuit Court finally determining that the administration’s political science is limited…by state law, quality data, and a stern but abiding non-political science.
