ILLINOIS (ECWd) –

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker exempted local governments from Executive Order number 38.

This was the EO placing Illinois in Phase 3, dated May 29, 2020, which contains the following provisions:

For individuals:

  • practice social distancing
  • wear face covering in public when unable to maintain six feet distance
  • limit gatherings of more than 10 people unless exempted by this executive order
  • go outdoors, where possible

For businesses, retail stores, office buildings, restaurants and bars, and a long list of other places, items, it points to public health requirements.

EXEMPTIONS include:

  • Free exercise of religion, but limited to 10 people indoors
  • Emergency functions, but are encouraged to practice social distancing
  • GOVERNMENTAL FUNCTIONS – This Executive Order does not apply to the United States government and does not affect services provided by the State or any municipal, township, county, subdivision or agency of government and needed to ensure the continuing operation of the government agencies or to provide for or support the health, safety and welfare of the public.

Note there is no restatement of the 10 person limit for local governments in this exemption, which should mean that there is no longer a 10 person limit on indoor activities for local governments.

This should also mean those local governments who have been forcing the public to stay away from public meetings can no longer rely on an executive order for justification to continue the practice.

By statute ALL his emergency powers expired after 30 days, thus April 8. Waiting for any appellate court in the Land of Loose Cannons to deflate that bloated spade.

When’s King Pritzker going to come up with mail in voting,he’s going to make this crap last until November. All the rats Illinois has had he takes top billing.

Maybe I’m parsing the words too carefully, but I read his government exemption to be only for services the government itself provides, and not the rules local governments impose on their citizens.

King Pritzker is just another dirty Demonrat like all the others. Time to purge this state of all the corrupt politicians. This includes Madigan and Mayor Beetlejuice!
