AG: Ken Burgess violated the Open Meetings Act three times last year –

DuPage Township (ECWd) –

The Illinois Attorney General issued a determination letter, dated April 28, 2020, confirmed that DuPage Township Trustee Ken Burgess, and the entire Township Youth Committee violated the Open Meetings Act.

Burgess is the lone elected Trustee appointed to this Committee, which is why we named him in the article.

This complaint concerns the meetings held on Aug 19, Sep 23, and Oct 28 of 2019.

This determination states that the Youth Committee violated the Open Meetings Act in the following ways:

• Section 2.02(c) – Voted on items not listed on the Agenda (approval of meeting minutes)
• Section 2.06(b) – Not approving meeting minutes within the time specified in the Act
