Shelby County State’s Attorney Gina Vonderheide withdrawals her candidacy from General Election

Shelby Co. (ECWd) –

Shelby County State’s Attorney Gina Vonderheide turned in her withdrawal of candidacy from the fall General Election for Shelby County State’s Attorney.  According to the date stamp, she filed her withdrawal from the race on February 6th, 2020.  She did not make any mention of her withdrawal during last week’s County Board meeting.

We are seeking clarification from the State Board of Elections as to what the Democrat party may or may not do in this case as the law is anything but clear for such a circumstance. We will update when we get the applicable clarification as to what the next step may be.
