Chrisman, IL. (ECWd) –
The Northern Edgar County Ambulance Service (NECAS) is on the edge of insolvency.
They have been telling us as much for the past year or so.
There is a Referendum on the ballot to establish a Northern Edgar County Special Service Area for the sole purpose of creating a new property tax for an ambulance service . . . because they are too broke to continue operating.
So what does NECAS do when they are so broke they can barely pay bills?
They give away thousands in public funds as Christmas Bonuses in violation of state law.
Christmas bonuses are impermissible gifting of public funds, especially when there are no employment agreements spelling out bonuses with measurable results required to obtain said bonuses.
Is this who you want handling your tax money in the future?
We have an FOIA request in for the names and dollar amounts of the recipients of these illegal gifts of public money and will provide a report when the documents are received.
.
Our work is funded entirely thru donations and we
ask that you consider donating at the below link.

Posted at 09:24h, 28 JanuaryWho in the the HELL thinks that is ok to offer – and who in the HELL thinks it’s ok to accept? Have they no concept of impropriety or the appearance of impropriety…or simply being good stewards of public funds? How about self-respect? Waiting to hear the rest of the story before I pass final judgment…and recommended sentence.
