Will Co. (ECWd) –
Two criminal complaints were filed in DuPage Township, one believed to be by the Township, possibly through the past attorney, and one by Trustee Maripat Oliver. (19-211 (V) DuPage Township and 19-815 (V) Maripat Oliver) For months we heard the claims of bias in our reporting since we would not publish certain information on Trustee Alyssia Benford. Most of the alleged crimes we were made aware of proved to be false based on our investigation. The spouse of former Supervisor Bill Mayer, Christine Mayer, and others claimed they had proof that Trustee Benford committed a crime in her actions as a trustee, yet she and others refused to ever provide any such proof to support their allegations.
Trustee Oliver took great pride in referencing what we now know is her criminal complaint number during past meetings and promised she would keep everyone informed and updated on the criminal complaint but refused to ever disclose what was being complained about.
According to communications from the Bolingbrook Police Departement the cases are closed and there will be no further investigations into the incidents.
“On 11/18/19, I received a phone call from Assistant State’s Attorney Jim Long, in regards to two cases that I previously presented to his office (19-211 (V) DuPage Township and 19-815 (V) Maripat Oliver). After his review, ASA Long, advised that the cases are not criminal in nature. ASA Long, deemed a no complaint status for both.
On 11/18/19 at 4:30pm, I spoke with (V) Maripat Oliver, via telephone. She was advised of the outcome. She was also advised that there will be no further investigation into the incidents and the cases will be closed.
Any questions, please let me know.
Det. Joe Hilbruner
Bolingbrook Police Department”
The only remaining questions now are what was actually complained about and were the complaints filed by more than just Maripat Oliver. Considering the communication from the Detective makes no mention of informing anyone else of the State’s Attorney’s determination, we wonder if both complaints were filed by Oliver.
A Freedom of Information Act request has been filed with both the Bolingbrook Police and the Will County State’s Attorney office to obtain all the applicable records. We are confident that the information will once again shed light on the witch hunt that began when a single trustee had the courage to push back and expose malfeasance and illegal spending at the Township.
Once we receive the records we will update the article with a dedicated reporting of the actual complaint and all other applicable records provided by the authorities.

Burgess and Oliver Should Resign
Posted at 22:57h, 20 Novemberfollowing this story, those two trustees haven’t said anything about Bill but they help attack the one trustee speaking out about the issues. Shame on them. They should both resign and that trustee should get them all charged with filing a false police report.
