McHenry Co. (ECWd) –
Algonquin Township Trustee Rachael Lawrence attended the Township Officials of Illinois conference in Springfield a few days ago which was allegedly paid for by the taxpayers. The Conference was from November 10-12, 2019, and held at the Holiday Inn Crown Plaza. Two days after the conference Lawrence submitted her resignation as trustee citing ongoing and private health concerns.
According to the Township Code, resignations become effective upon acceptance of the board.
Once the position is, in fact, vacant, the Board shall appoint a qualified person to the position. In the event the Board fails to make such an appointment within 60 days, a Special Township Meeting must be called where the Electors fill the vacancy as outlined in the applicable Township Code.
A copy of the Resignation letter can be downloaded at this link or viewed below.

Posted at 14:58h, 15 NovemberWe don’t know if the Township paid for it or if she paid for it. That is why we said allegedly paid for by taxpayers.
