Wesley Township – Trustee Kennedy, other former Township officials, and a citizen named in Slander Per Se and False Light Invasion of Privacy and Civil Conspiracy law suit.

Will Co. (ECWd) –

Wesley Township trustee Kathy Kennedy, former Township Highway Commissioner John Norton, his daughter, former Township Clerk Sarah Norton, and their father Donald Norton have been named in an amended complaint for Slander, False Light Invasion of Privacy and Civil Conspiracy.  A prior hearing dismissed Kennedy from the case however key laws were overlooked that appear to conflict with the court’s prior ruling.  The other named defendants have not been dismissed from the case.

Kennedy has claimed to be a Park Ranger and that her actions are protected as a trustee.  We have proven that no such position was ever created nor was Kennedy ever assigned to such a position.  The amended complaint outlines all the statutory requirements for an enforcement officer in a Township that includes police training obligations and none of those have ever been complied with, thus she was not an enforcement officer or Park Ranger as had been argued during the prior motion to dismiss.
