On Sep 9, 2019, former Edgar County Jailer (and felon) Jason Ball was charged with failing to report change of address (as sex offender) and felon in possession of a firearm. These are Class 2 and 3 Felonies, respectively.

Ball entered a not guilty plea to both charges on Sep 23, 2019, and demanded a trial by jury. He posted Bond on Sep 25th.

Earlier this year, in July, Jason Ball pleaded Guilty to Class 3 Felony violating sex offender registry and was sentenced to 120 days in the Edgar County Jail, 2 years probation, and a total of $842 in fines.

Also in July of this year, an Emergency and Plenary Order of Protection was issued against him. It was later modified in some way.

In April of 2019 his spouse filed for a Divorce.

In 2010 he was charged with and pleaded Guilty to Bringing Contraband into a Penal Institution and found Guilty of Custodial Sexual Misconduct, a Class 1 and Class 3 Felony. Part of that sentence was to register as a Sex Offender for 10 years – which expires sometime in June of 2022.

He is currently listed as “Homeless” on the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry website.
