McHenry County (ECWd) –
Algonquin Township is named as Defendant in four more lawsuits filed since July 26, 2019 in McHenry County Circuit Court.
Think how simple and inexpensive it would be if Algonquin Township simply complied with the law. What a concept – follow the law; avoid lawsuits…
First, an Open Meetings Act lawsuit, case no 19CH437. Kirk Allen and the ECWd are Plaintiffs.
It is alleged:
- that the township discussed items in closed session which should have been discussed in open session, on January 19, 2018
- the township failed to comply with the OMA when they refused to “fully cooperate” with the Illinois Attorney General’s Public Access Counselor when it requested certain information from the township concerning a request for review filed on the same meeting, and township attorney James Kelly refused to provide it.
This suit seeks to enjoin the township from refusing to comply with the OMA, an order that all minutes and recordings of topics improperly discussed in this closed session be disclosed, and payment of attorney fees and costs.
Next, three separate FOIA lawsuits were filed against the township for their alleged violations of the Act. Those suits are case numbers 19CH459, 19CH460, and 19CH461. Kirk Allen is Plaintiff.
OMA lawsuit below (the FOIA suits will be provided when we obtain file-stamped copies):

Posted at 09:59h, 04 AugustShame on these Government officials; those are now doing their best to circumvent, ignore and violate Illinois Law. And for what? Personal gain and/or twisted egos. One doesn’t need to be a rocket scientist to read Illinois Compiled statues…so it’s no longer ignorance of the law if it ever was, it’s deliberate defiance of Illinois Law.
These officials can’t do it alone. Illinois Attorneys, paid well by our government bodies, jump in with the aiding, abetting; even instructing their clients on unscrupulous activities. Defending their now wrongful activities, and even stirring the pot to pump up revenue for themselves.
No virtue, no ethics, no loyalty to the State of Illinois, or our country. Attorneys such as this know better and should be disbarred for placing their financial interests above those of our state and nation. It’s the taxpayers that are truly the clients not the crooked officials or their money grubbing attorneys.
In the end, Algonquin Township will lose these cases and the taxpayers will fund attorneys on both sides.
Shame on Algonquin Township officials, their attorneys and the taxpayers that don’t step in and fix this.

Posted at 23:03h, 04 AugustRobert? I am positive you meant to say supercilious. Therefore I contend that the Ai changed your text to scrupulous while you probably typed unscrupulous. This fighting the robots is getting old while we are being censored at every turn. No matter, the criminals will not win in the end.
