Mid-Illinois Concrete delivers to Edgar County Airport project –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On June 26, 2019

PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –

I stopped by the Edgar County Airport this morning to take photos of the fuel farm / apron construction project.

Its purpose is to provide additional and self-serve fueling for airplanes, and additional parking (tie-down) space.

It appears to be progressing in spite of the spring rains.

Project started on May 13, 2019 and is an 83-day contract.

Feutz Construction is the General Contractor.

Mid-Illinois Concrete is delivering about 200 cubic yards today, and an estimated 800-900 cubic yards by the time the project is finished.

I too was wondering how Mid-Illinois got the bid. Wait a minute…is there an Edger County connection?

Cool Beans……It’s good to see progress moving forward in Illinois. Especially in the down state area. Any word of new manufacturing moving in down there? I know, wishful thinking considering we have the most dysfunctional government in the union. Thx for the pics

That’s weird…..I thought there was only one certain supplier allowed to bring concrete to this airport. Looks like this project may have been done in the proper manner…..competitive bids as it should be. Also, I think Feutz does good work.
