McHenry Co. (ECWd) –
It’s time for Time Card Tuesday once again. This article will begin with the first two time cards we have for Anna May Miller, former employee of the Road District.
What makes this time card coverage so interesting is not just the math problems, but the date problems on the time cards.
The first time card is for the week ending 10/13/2014, however the date at the bottom is 10/15/2013, a year separated? The entries for days worked are for Monday, October 7th, 2013 as the first day, then the next four entries follow the days in the week but are reported as 2014 entries with the final entry jumping back to 2013.
Considering there is no way to know what actual pay cycle this time card covers, we can only report that the math, once again, does not add up. The first time card reflects 1.42 hours of extra regular time and 1.5 of extra overtime, and possibly an additional 3. Considering we don’t know what actual week was worked on this time card because of the date entries conflicting, we don’t know if the last entry of 3 hours of overtime was proper or not.
At $30.00 an hour, this one time card has $42.60 in extra regular time and $67.50 in extra over-time, for an extra total of $110.10.
The second time card is for the week ending October 21, 2013, however, the bottom date entry is October 21, 2015, two years separated? This time card reflects an extra 15 minutes of regular time, 1 hour extra of overtime, and one entry where it actually under-reports 30 minutes of overtime due.
At $30.00 an hour, this one time card has $7.50 in extra regular time and $22.50 in extra over-time, for an extra total of $30.00
These two-time cards reflect an extra $140.10 for time not worked however we have no way of confirming what payroll ledger to use to know what was actually paid because of the dates listed that span 2 years.
